Dr. Connor Hughes was born and raised in South Austin. Since beginning medical school, he\u2019s been inspired to return to Austin to provide medical care and help people in his community. He is excited to serve patients as part of the Southwest Dermatology & Vein physician team.<\/span><\/p>\n
Dr. Hughes received his undergraduate degree in Plan II Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. He was awarded The Most Outstanding Male Student in his graduating class at UT. For his work on advancing healthcare initiatives, he also received an Appreciation Award directly from the Surgeon General of the Department of Health and Human Services. He then attended medical school at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where he attained membership in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) and Gold Humanism Honor Societies.<\/p>\n
Dr Hughes completed his dermatology residency training at the UT Austin Dell Dermatology program. He received extensive training on the evaluation and management of all dermatologic conditions in every age group and skin type – including adult and pediatric patients. He authored several dermatology research publications, presentations, along with a textbook chapter. He was honored to serve as a Chief Resident during his final year with the program.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n Dr. Hughes believes in the importance of understanding the goals of his patients. He provides evidence-based, compassionate, effective care that focuses on the priorities of his patients. Dr. Dr. Hughes spends his free time cycling, hiking, playing soccer, and watching sports with his family.
