He is thrilled to join the team at Southwest Dermatology &#038; Vein in providing excellent patient care. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Dr. Correa received his undergraduate degree in Neurobiological Sciences from the University of Florida, graduating <\/span><i><span>magna cum laude<\/span><\/i><span>. He stayed in Gainesville for another four years and completed medical school at the University of Florida. In medical school, he was inducted into both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He also received the UF College of Medicine Alumni Scholarship Award for Academic Excellence. He completed his transitional year internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, where he was honored with the Outstanding Resident in Pediatrics Award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> <\/span><span>Dr. Correa returned to his hometown of New Orleans for his dermatology residency at the prestigious Tulane University. Here, he honed his skills in compassionately treating patients of all ages in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. In his final year of residency, he served as Chief Resident. He has presented both locally and nationally at several dermatology conferences, and he has multiple publications in the dermatology literature. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> <\/span><span>Dr. Correa values the relationships he makes with his patients and employs a thorough, thoughtful, and professional approach to treating his patients. He believes in advocating for patients at all levels of the healthcare system. He serves on the American Academy of Dermatology\u2019s Healthcare Finance Committee, is active with the state dermatologic society, and has even traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with congressional staff on behalf of his patients. He is deeply committed to providing patient-centered care and empowering patients to look and feel their best. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> <\/span><span>Dr. Correa\u2019s particular interests include skin cancer prevention and treatment, acne, eczema, psoriasis, and cosmetic dermatology. His diverse and comprehensive training makes him equipped to treat the breadth of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He\u2019s very sweet and super smart about the care he provides. He explains everything he\u2019ll do before he does it. His Asst. is amazing also. Together they helped take care of an issue I\u2019ve had for 20 years. I\u2019ve seen approx. 10 Dermatologists, but always end up back at the Derm. Dr. C. is a good listener, he cares about people and wants the best for his patients. I highly recommend him. If I could give an extra star I would.
